This October, an island takes shape at Wolfhouse. For one Saturday, the house becomes the site of Island on Land — A Landscape in Five States, a one-day food installation by artist Lang Lang, developed in spatial collaboration with designer Xie Peng — a multisensory landscape in which consciousness emerges, the body remembers, life persists, boundaries dissolve, and only a trace remains.
New York City–based artist Lang Lang works across moving image, photography, installation, and edible sculpture, and is the founder of No.29, an edible-art practice exploring taste, material, memory, and gathering as artistic forms. Island on Land begins with dreams: fleeting encounters, quiet ruptures, and moments that arrive without intention. The exhibition translates this shifting inner world into a multisensory environment through moving images, edible forms, and spatial interventions. Within it, five edible states emerge as distinct presences, each carrying its own material, rhythm, and sensory language.
The installation responds to Wolfhouse as both a domestic setting and a landscape of interconnected micro-spaces, continuously unfolding across the architecture. Visitors’ presence and participation continually transform the landscape — the work will be seen, moved through, tasted, and felt, and what remains is a trace, both material and remembered.
